ABOUT US
The Daughter of the Stars Theater
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the historic town of Stanley, VA is the iconic Daughter of the Stars Theater. Built in 1926, the theater was originally a movie cinema showing old Westerns and War films. There is a rich history around the theater and the magnificent surrounding countryside that paints the picture of American culture and history.
Our primary focus is to explore and bring to a wider audience the rich, diverse, history, music, art, and cultures of the Shenandoah Valley in an Entertaining and respectful way.

We began work of restoring the theater in the spring of 2021 and plan to bring live entertainment that represents the culture of the Shenandoah Valley to the stage and directly to your living room through our YouTube channel.

The Shenandoah valley stretches from the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia all the way to South Western Virginia with the beautiful Shenandoah River running along the base of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.
Each week we will take A Closer Look at the fascinating history and culture of this region.
This journey through the history of the area will be an interactive experience as our YouTube family engages with the story sharing their own perspective, ideas, and personal stories. Together we will explore the curious and remarkable history and culture of the Shenandoah Valley.

The Daughter of the Stars Theater Video Journal will be your front row seat as we bring the vision to life. We will share updates on the theater as our restoration progresses. You will get a first-hand look as we add the decorative, cultural, and whimsical touches to the stage and building.
You’ll be there as we add the lighting, sound and technical equipment and even see some of the exclusive behind the scenes action as we get the venue ready for its debut. You will be the first to know about the artists and events as the theater comes to life.
